Media Works did it again; they hosted a graduation ceremony for 10 learners with disabilities from the community of QwaQwa in Lusaka, the Free State. 

Learners were awarded certificates for Adult Education and Training (AET) Level 2 (Communication and Maths) through Media Works. This was the second project that they’ve participated in, following the completion of AET Level 1 in 2018. 

Media Works hosted a graduation ceremony for 10 learners with disabilities from the community of QwaQwa in Lusaka, the Free State.

In addition to Communication and Maths, they also received certificates of attendance for completing the following short courses: Manage Personal Finances, Substance Abuse & Dependency, Abuse & Coping Mechanism and Sexually Transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS.

The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) funded the project, which was aimed at providing skills and training to unemployed and disabled members of the QwaQwa community. 

Mahlatse Xinzi, Strategic Projects and Work Integrated Learning Specialist from CHIETA Gauteng, spoke at the event about the benefits and importance of adult education and training.

The CHIETA-funded project, which was managed by Media Works, ran from October 2018 to March 2019.
